Lids Direct is the UK’s number one online retailer of motorcycle clothing and accessories, with more than 10,000 items in stock at any time. A key objective in launching a new website was to make the browsing and buying purchase simple and effective for consumers, and to manage thousands of items effectively.
For an online retailer of this size, Magento was chosen as the right platform. As an enterprise level solution, it provides the best way for Lids Direct to not only manage content, but also their inventory and logistics.
As experienced Magento developers, we were able to advise on the core functionality, and where existing third party extensions could be used to provide additional required functionality at a lower cost. In some cases bespoke work was also required, such as integration with the existing product inventory system used by Lids Direct, to ensure stock information was constantly updated without manual intervention.
With a massive range of products available, thought was given to both the main navigation and the filters used by customers to narrow their choices.
To achieve this, we worked very closely with the client to ensure that the information, imagery and filters were all aligned with what customers required and expected when looking to purchase from Lids Direct.
