Andun are the experts in field of temporary works and demolition engineering. Having provided their services for over 25 years they’ve expanded their team originally based in Chelmsford to Manchester. They’ve help support projects of all sizes across the world, including London Waterloo Station, Reading Station, Derwent Tower and many more.

Getting Started

Our relationship with Andun started back in 2016 when they approached us to make some tweaks to their existing website. We continued to work with them improving their SEO, the desktop/mobile experience and adding a download section to the site. Now in 2018, it was time for the website to be redesigned and we were approached to help again. As part of the whole website redesign we suggested to Andun that it would make sense to evolve their current logo which was put together many years back and wasn’t suitable for modern digital applications. We took the essence of the original and adapted it’s geometric angular nature by refining and stylising – the result giving a more contemporary look. Ideal for reproduction on the website as a scalable SVF and for print or embroidery as a vector. We also updated the Andun green colour palate and added cool greys to compliment and give a fresher feel.

The previous site was confusing to navigate, lacked impact and the images used were small and low resolution, it was clear we needed to create a more visually appealing design. We also wanted to make each service page more engaging by dynamically pulling in news and projects relevant to each. For the homepage, we opted for a high impact image covering 60% of the screen with a clear call to action linking any potential clients to Andun’s case studies. As you continue to scroll down the homepage we mix the use of their iconic green with subtle shades of grey and occasionally used full bleed images for case studies and the testimonial section.

Case studies followed a similar design process to the homepage, we used the same full bleed background image in the header but applied a filter to blur it out so we could put the intro copy over it. The main copy then slightly overlaps the header image, this was done to create the effect of it being a document. One of the more unique templates created was for the single services. The template pulls in any news that is in the same category as the name of the service, we then put in a selector field. This allowed them to pick the desired case studies they wanted to showcase for that service.

Considering the bulk of the work we did on the previous site we were happy to see SEO was the highest score.

We didn’t expect to see a huge boost in SEO considering we moved this work from the previous site to the new one but we’re extremely happy with the results, especially with the performance.
