Manfood

Based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Manfood have created a delicious range of pickles, chutneys, sauces and other condiments. The idea for the business started in the creator’s (Andre Dang) home kitchen after his husband was bored of bland condiments.

In a short space of time the business has exploded in popularity, finding themselves stocked by the likes of Ocado, Tom Kerridge, The Co-op, Liberty Foods, Delilah and many. Andre contacted us in early 2021 to redesign his site, make it easier to use and more visually appealing.

The extremely strong branding was great to work with and visualise a striking site that utilised elements of their product labels, with a diverse range of subtle patterns and a vibrant colour palette for the background elements. We also utilised the product labels for heading inspiration, using a smaller font for subheadings where possible throughout the site to have consistent branding between the products and the website.

Using Advanced Custom Fields Pro, we provided the option for a pattern and colour on each product. This allowed us to match the brand elements from each product directly onto the product page to re-enforce their already strong style. These options are also added to all regular pages with the default being the turquoise and line texture.

With vegan products seeing growth of up to 77% in 2020 it was great that the vast majority of the products on Manfood are vegan and we wanted to highlight this more than as just a category. So we decided to add vegan badges on the main shop pages too.

WooCommerce

We used WooCommerce for the e-Commerce side of the website. This offered easy integration into Facebook & Instagram shopping platformsto help provide options for the shopping channels and expand the business further. There is also direct integration into the Royal Mail Click & Drop, this would allow Andre to easily create the shipping labels for all of his orders.

For the payments we used PayPal Checkout & Stripe, two very popular providers. With PayPal Checkout we were able to add the option to make an order directly on a product page for faster checkout. This is a fantastic option to add to an e-Commerce website as it helps optimise the checkout experience. The addition of Stripe also allows for the integration of Apple & Google Pay in the future if this is something that Andre would like to add.
