To coincide with the 140th-anniversary of the Shimadzu Corporation their ‘Secret’s Out’ promotion prompted not only ads, but a bespoke website (which we also hosted), and numerous promotional items such as branded USBs, banner pens and posters.
They trusted us with so much work that I was almost a full-time account manager for them, great stuff.
Then, as with other customers, the shift changed from print to online marketing. Firstly leaderboards and animated banners, then for the last 4 years emails and email newsletters have become a regular (sometimes several each month) feature on our worklist. Stand by for some stats:
Our communication with Ania and her team (we need to give credit to Luke here) is excellent. Both parties are super quick to respond, make decisions and get the job done. New product launches, training programmes, webinars, Christmas sales and their monthly newsletter – some trialing A/B testing for optimum performance and utilising the features of our email Createsend platform. We can efficiently create beautiful looking emails that are responsive across all devices and ensure that they function no matter which email client the recipient may be using.
Occasionally Shimadzu use a third-party marketing agency to send emails, as well as sending to their own mailing lists. For these we’ll build the email in our controlled environment first, then once approved move onto a custom HTML build. We’ve built an HTML template that we know is reliable when sending out through a platform we don’t control. This has been achieved by working with the other marketing agencies and making tweaks when needed to ensure compatibility.
Design for print is also an important requirement – large format display banners, ‘welcome boxes’ for training days and yes still the odd trade ad. And last Christmas the wonderfully simple animated email with twinkling Shimadzu icons (yes that was my idea).
We have been working with Jigowatt for a number of years now. For us, the Jigowatt team is like an extension of our company, rather than external agency. Sandra, Andy and Luke has been crucial in our marketing development. I am sure that our relationship will continue for the years to come.Ania – Sales & Marketing Specialist: Shimadzu UK
For years now we’ve liaised and billed Shimadzu directly, not through RSC (with approval). So we are extremely thankful to the lady who introduced us.
