Performance & Core Web Vitals
Performance is a combination of hosting, site build quality and what runs on the site. Managed hosting helps by providing a WordPress-optimised environment with caching and CDN support. Where performance issues are caused by themes, plugins or page weight, we can advise on improvements and carry out changes under a support retainer or at our hourly rate.
Security, monitoring & recovery
Keeping WordPress secure is largely about staying current and reducing risk. Hosting provides the platform and monitoring. Updates and troubleshooting are handled through support when required.
If something goes wrong, backups provide a controlled recovery route. Restore work and investigation are billed as support time, but backups ensure recovery is possible and manageable.
Support options: retainer or hourly
Automatic updates reduce routine maintenance. When issues or changes require hands-on work, support is available on a monthly retainer or at our standard hourly rate.

Monthly Support Retainer
Our monthly support retainer runs on a rolling basis, with a minimum of 3 hours per month. Retainer time is billed at £90 + VAT per hour (standard rate: £95 + VAT per hour).
The retainer gives you access to:
- Priority support
- Ongoing website improvements and development
- Troubleshooting and fixes when updates cause issues
- Online training and practical guidance
Hourly support
If you only need occasional help, we can support you on an ad-hoc basis at £95 + VAT per hour. This is suitable for one-off fixes, small changes, investigations and advice without an ongoing commitment.

Is this hosting suitable for WooCommerce?
Yes. WooCommerce stores typically need more resources than brochure sites, so we will recommend a tier based on your product range and expected traffic.
Can you host a WordPress site you didn’t build?
Yes. We can migrate many WordPress sites after a review of theme, plugin setup and domain configuration.
Do you include email hosting?
Email hosting is separate from website hosting. We can advise email hosting with us, on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace and help configure your domain.
What happens if my site breaks after an update?
If an update causes an issue, we investigate and fix it as support time (retainer or hourly). Backups provide a recovery route if a rollback is needed.
