Monthly retainers are becoming a popular choice for our key clients – in fact the latest count is 14 of them. The benefits are numerous and proving a valuable aspect of the smooth running of our customers’ day to day businesses.
They are a result of already working together for a long period of time; building up an understanding of what we can do, at a consistently high standard and the trust that hours worked will be hours charged. Larger projects are always quoted for however and timescales agreed avoiding any shocks, confusion and missed deadlines down the line.
Retainer customers get priority too [as well as a discounted hourly rate] and are assured that we’ll respond usually within minutes and carry out work and support needed quickly and effectively. We review our agreements regularly so that what you pay is what you need and use – and of course hours not used are carried forward. We’re always flexible.
Many customers use our online project management tool Basecamp – listing projects, assigning tasks, deadlines and estimates; then throughout the task for comments, uploading content or images and final signing off. We also issue reports after month end using our our accounting software FreeAgent – listing work carried out and a balance of hours utilised and carried forward.
Working with customers on an ongoing basis can help to highlight trends, identify training or business needs and help to formulate budgets. Plus having a flexible resource means our clients can utilise one member or the whole team depending on requirements without the need to invest in a permanent in-house resource.
Utilising more than one service that Jigowatt provide makes a retainer agreement even more attractive. If your promotion involves a print ad, a targeted email campaign, adding a section on your website and promoting on social media it covers everything we do. Also being managed by one team mean the message and brand styling will be consistent across all elements.
There’s an enormous sense of pride that comes from working with either a start-up business and being part of its growth and success or an established company that has become disillusioned with their current supplier and chooses to utilise our skills, experience and flexibility.
