Social media can be difficult to manage, especially if you’re a small business that hasn’t used it before. But when used with traditional marketing techniques the rewards can be worth the effort.
Not only does being active on your social media platforms lead to sales but it also shows your customers and Google that you’re active as a business. We have a few tips to help make your journey into social media marketing a bit easier.
#1 Sign up for Hootsuite
The first thing we’d suggest is signing up to Hootsuite. With plans starting from £25 a month it will allow you to manage all your social media profiles from one dashboard, schedule posts, view analytics and much more.
Once you have an account you’re able to link all of your social media accounts. We have Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and will be adding Instagram in the new year. With all these linked up, you’ll then be able to schedule posts to go out across all these platforms, saving you the hassle of having to go to each platform every day and post something.
#2 Utilise Google Trends
Google Trends is a free tool which allows you to compare search terms to see the traffic, see what’s currently trending and have it presented to you visually.
You may wonder how this helps? If you can make your posts relevant to what your audience is searching for you’re more likely to see engagement on your posts.
#3 Make your content relevant to the platform
It’s important to understand how to get the most out of each social media platform if you want to see real results. For example, if you’re an e-commerce business you may find that Instagram is better for you than LinkedIn or Twitter because it’s much more visual allowing you to showcase your products. But if you run a small local business, Facebook is likely going to be much more lucrative by making use of their marketing tools to target your local area.
Each platform has its benefits and pitfalls, so make sure you do your research before you invest in one.
#4 Try using videos
With stats like “64% of consumers make a purchase after watching branded social videos” and “Video on a landing page can increase conversions by 80% or more“. Why wouldn’t you?
