Website Design & Development
At the start of the project, we discussed the direction of the new site and how we could simplify the structure to make a better user experience. We also wanted to make the site easier for the client to use, so we took some time to run them through what WordPress and Elementor had to offer in terms of site management.
The next step was to look at the competition to see how we could make St James stand out and came up with a few initial wireframes to give them an idea of how we’d lay the homepage out. With everything signed off, it was time to start the build.
As we decided to utilise Elementor to allow the client to edit the site easily, we used our internal theme to make the site’s performance the best it could be. This also means we save time on the initial set of styling saving the client time and money.
The build itself was straight forward and it didn’t have any issues. St James had already invested in getting some fantastic photography done, which made a massive impact on the design not depending on stock photography.
We did add a few design flourishes to the site. Our favourite would have to be the parallax diamonds in the background of homepage strips. We used the diamond in their logo to create this design to incorporate it some more. It was also used as a bottom border on a few headers throughout the site.
